Gisborne and Hawke's Bay Mainly fine. Isolated showers this afternoon.
Wellington and Wairarapa Fine spells. A few showers late morning or early afternoon, mainly about Wairarapa.
Buller to Fiordland Showers, with squally thunderstorms this morning.
Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury Partly cloudy. Occasional showers about Nelson and the chance of a shower elsewhere.
Otago and Southland Showers. Squally thunderstorms possible near the coast. Snow above 500 metres.
Chatham Islands Cloudy periods and the odd shower. Rain developing late evening.
