Auckland to Waitomo, also Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, the central high country, and Gisborne to Wairarapa
Generally fine. Areas of cloud morning and night, and isolated afternoon and evening showers, especially about the mountains where some may be heavy.
Taranaki to Wellington
Mostly cloudy. Isolated showers, mainly about the ranges, some possibly heavy this afternoon and evening.
Grey to Fiordland
Mostly cloudy. Occasional rain for Fiordland. Morning drizzle clearing and fine spells developing about Grey and Westland.
Nelson and Marlborough, also Otago and Southland
Mainly fine. A few showers developing about Stewart Island this morning.
Buller and Canterbury
Cloud increasing, with drizzle developing about the foothills and ranges. Becoming fine late morning.
Chatham Islands
Low cloud or fog, with light rain from evening.
