A High Court Justice is making her final remarks in the sentencing of Yanfei Bao's killer

A High Court Justice is making her final remarks in the sentencing of Yanfei Bao's killer

    13 June 2025
Chinese national Tingjun Cao was earlier found guilty of murdering the 44-year-old real estate agent in Christchurch in 2023.

At the High Court at Christchurch, Crown prosecutors are seeking life imprisonment for Cao with no chance of parole for 18-years.

Defence lawyers say this is excessive.

Justice Lisa Preston is reciting the details of the murder before she gives her verdict.
