Consumers are in for a power bill price hike

Consumers are in for a power bill price hike

    17 March 2025
A briefing to the Minister for Energy states household electricity bills are expected to increase about 10 dollars a month on average - from next month.

The Minister's being warned affordability will likely remain an issue.

It notes those on lower incomes will be least able to afford innovations to offset costs - like EVs and home solar panels.

The memo warns the electricity system's not on track to have the right supply to manage security risks in the coming years -- which is reflected in high prices.
