    A number of Smiths City and Kitchen Things stores are trying to sell leftover stock in liquidation and receivership quick fire sales

    Smiths City shops in Christchurch and Auckland had more than 21 thousand items at "significantly reduced prices."

    Stores in Greymouth, Oamaru, Alexandra, Gore and Invercargill are also beginning sales.

    Home appliance and furniture retail outlet Smiths City was placed in voluntary administration this week.

    While Kitchen Things entered receivership last month.
