Scheduled OCR decisions are taking a break over summer, but the Reserve Bank is keeping busy

Scheduled OCR decisions are taking a break over summer, but the Reserve Bank is keeping busy

    27 December 2024
The central bank has slashed the cash rate from 5.5 to 4.25 between August and November, after three years of sharp hikes.

It's paused further reviews for three months over summer.

But Governor Adrian Orr says they still have plenty to do, and summer is actually one of their busiest times of year.

He says the Reserve Bank is continuing to deliver money-in-cash, keep the financial system efficient and stable, and operate the payment and settlement systems.
