    Wage growth in the public sector is expected to slow down this quarter

    4 July 2025
    A Public Service Commission briefing anticipates quarterly wage growth to be low, and annual wage growth to continue to fall.

    It comes after March quarter data that confirms 20 percent of public sector workers got a pay rise, compared to 11 percent of other workers.

    Wages have gone up partially due to agreements made through collective bargaining -- but growth's expected to stabilise, now the pay rises are in effect.
