The Police Association warns there is still a lot to do - despite crime dropping in central Auckland

The Police Association warns there is still a lot to do - despite crime dropping in central Auckland

    16 September 2024
Police data shows serious assaults dropped 22 percent in the CBD in this year's first seven months - compared to the same period last year.

But there were homicides in Auckland's Pakuranga, Blockhouse Bay, Mt Wellington, Onehunga, and Grey Lynn in the past month.

President Chris Cahill says is shows Police are very stretched.

He says putting all the resources in one area, pressures others - so Police still have to keep the work going right across Auckland.
