Despite recent struggles, businesses are feeling optimistic for the upcoming 12 months

A Grant Thornton New Zealand survey shows 51-percent of businesses are slightly optimistic around economic conditions over the next year.
That's up from 32-percent last year.
Business advisory national director Greg Thompson says it comes as more businesses are seeing reduced demand for their services.
He says like anyone, it took them by surprise at just how optimistic people were.
