Ashanti doesn't want to share pictures of her son on social media yet

The 44-year-old singer - who is married to 'Hot in Herre' singer Nelly - gave birth Kareem last August but has never shared an image of him with her fans on Instagram and doesn't think it is the right time to do so just yet, even though her husband thinks differently

    26 February 2025
She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I just feel like he is so important to me, and I don't know if I want to share that. He's a beautiful baby. He's definitely my twin, he's definitely my twin!

"Sometimes I want to post, I'm like 'Oh this is so cute.' Daddy definitely wants to post, Daddy wants to post. But I'm like 'Not yet, Daddy, not yet."

The 'Foolish' hitmaker added that in an ideal world, she could "control" when her fans actually got to see the little one and warned photographers not to take his picture, but is considering sharing an image of himself when he hits his first birthday later this year.

She said: "In a perfect world, I would control it. Do you know what I mean? If you don't wanna see the other side me, then don't do it. Maybe [for his birthday], maybe yeah."

Ashanti also revealed that despite the fact that he is only seven months old, the little one has already started talking and standing up on his own.

She said: "You start clapping, he'll clap. It melts my heart every time. He's standing up in the crib every time on his own. And then this is a new thing that he does.

"When you FaceTime him, you'll say 'Hey, hey' with him and he will copy and he'll do 'Hey, hey' with you for like 10 minutes. It's a beautiful thing, he's only seven months old."
