Chocolate lovers are being warned not to expect a drastic drop in prices, as cocoa futures start to ease

Chocolate lovers are being warned not to expect a drastic drop in prices, as cocoa futures start to ease

    19 September 2025
New research by banking specialist Rabobank shows retail prices will remain, well above pre-cocoa crisis levels, due to aging cocoa trees, crop disease, and the climate.

RaboResearch agriculture analyst Paul Joules says cocoa prices have dropped by 40 percent, after reaching its peak over the last couple of years.

He says it should eventually filter down to chocolate prices but it's going to take time to reach the retail level.
