Mamie Gummer has filed for divorce from her husband Mehar Sethi after six years of marriage

According to TMZ.com, 'The Good Wife' star - the eldest daughter of movie legend Meryl Streep and sculptor Don Gummer - filed court papers on Thursday (06.02.25) to dissolve her marriage to screenwriter, who is the father of her two children Peter, five, and Mary, three

    10 February 2025
The website reports the paperwork lists the date of the couple's separation as May 6, 2023 and the reason for the split is stated as "irreconcilable differences".

Mamie, 41, is said to have asked for joint legal and physical custody of the kids as well as spousal support.

It's the actress' second failed marriage after previously tying the knot with actor Benjamin Walker in 2011. They split in 2013.

She went on to walk down the aisle with Sethi in early 2019 just months before the couple welcomed their son.

News of Mamie's divorce comes after her parents Meryl and Don confirmed their split in September 2023 and revealed they had been separated for six years.

In a statement to Us Weekly, the former couple's representative explained: "Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart."

Mamie's younger sister Grace, 38, also divorced her first husband, musician Tay Strathairn, in 2020 and she's now married to record producer Mark Ronson.

Meryl and Don are also parents to son Henry, 45, and daughter Louisa Jacobson, who recently came out publicly as gay after spending years "hiding".

She told New York Post column PageSix: "I was hiding for so long, part of myself that I knew was always there ...

"I think the more we see people like us, who we can relate to, who are following onto this path and stepping into their truth unapologetically, will inspire others that they can do the same, that their truths are OK and not to be ashamed of ...

"I think we're entering a moment right now where there is a vanguard of women and non-binary people who are redefining what it means to be a woman. It's an exciting time, and I'm really grateful."
