Kevin Bacon has trouble sleeping when he makes horror projects

The 66-year-old actor has starred in a number of horror-themed films and TV shows over the years, and Kevin has admitted that his work life can sometimes spill over into his real life

    8 April 2025
Asked whether starring in 'The Bondsman' - the new action-horror series - had impacted his sleep, Kevin told PEOPLE: "It's interesting. A lot of times, no. And then every once in a while, if you've just been living in a certain headspace, it'll start to take its toll on you.

"It's funny you say that because last night my dreams were starting to get pretty intense and scary, and every once in a while it just catches up with you.

"I'm pretty good at trying to leave my work at the office, but what the guy is going through always has to stay there in the back of your mind. Because you're thinking, 'What am I shooting tomorrow?' Okay, we're going to get this and then I'm going to be confronting the demon again.'"

Kevin can count 'Flatliners', 'MaXXXine' and 'They/Them' among his horror projects - but he doesn't see himself as "a Scream King".

He added: "I like doing horror and some of the horror movies, 'Friday the 13th', I was in the first one, so that became sort of iconic. 'Tremors' had an iconic vibe to it, which is just luck of the draw.

"But I go back to horror, and the reason I do is because a lot of times, it affords you great things to play. Because life or death, those things are scary. Life or death is always interesting."

Meanwhile, Kevin recently revealed that he tells DJs to not play 'Footloose' songs at weddings.

The actor made his career breakthrough in the 1984 musical-drama film - but Kevin hates being asked to recreate scenes from the movie whenever he attends a wedding.

He told Variety at SXSW: "My worst nightmare is to be at a wedding and the DJ puts on the music.

"They always start out being about the bride, and then there's alcohol involved. And by about 10:30, the song comes on, and suddenly the wedding becomes about me getting out and dancing. People will literally form a circle around me and clap their hands like I'm a trained monkey."
