Wet conditions are expected to continue around the East of the North Island - after some heavy falls last night

Wet conditions are expected to continue around the East of the North Island - after some heavy falls last night

    27 December 2024
An orange heavy rain warning's in place in the Wairoa district - with MetService expecting up to 200 millimetres more rain on top of what's already fallen.

Metereologist Heath Gulery says this should gradually ease as we get into the weekend.

He says there's also a front coming in off the Tasman Sea over the weekend - bringing some rain into Fiordland and Westland.

Gulery says this will spread across the South Island over Sunday - and possibly bring some heavy falls.
