Concern from local politicians about a busy Christchurch intersection, where a child was hit by a truck yesterday

Concern from local politicians about a busy Christchurch intersection, where a child was hit by a truck yesterday

    16 September 2025
The collision on Sparks and Halswell Roads happened about 8.30 yesterday morning - the child suffered a leg injury.

The incident's re-ignited calls for better safety at the intersection.

Labour MP Tracey McLellan's written to NZTA, urging it to introduce improvements to the area.

The Halswell Residents Association says it's long advocated for changes, while local councillor Andrei Moore believes NZTA already knows it's unsafe.
