Our most popular recipes of 2024

If you're looking to add new meals to your rotation, or simply have a bit more time to cook over summer, here are 10 of your favourites.

    6 January 2025

Every week, we publish a new recipe to help you get dinner (and the odd dessert) on the table.

Looking back on 2024, easy weeknight meals were your favourite.

If you're looking to add new meals to your rotation, or simply have more time to cook over summer, here are 10 of your favourites.

This easy dinner has just 10 minutes of prep. Simply mix up a flavour-packed marinade for the chicken, before the ingredients are thrown together on a tray. After 30 minutes in the oven, you'll be rewarded with juicy, charred chicken on top of creamy lentils.

On cooler days and nights, treat yourself to lamb shanks. There's 20 minutes of hands-on time in this recipe, before your slow cooker takes care of the rest. There's also the option to make this in an oven if you don't own one.

There are just five simple steps in this protein-filled recipe. Hokkien noodles are sold already cooked, which means they only need a quick stir-fry to reheat them. The key to this recipe is prep, as the cooking happens very quickly.

Need a quick meal for a crowd? Whether it's family dinner or a last-minute gathering, this is an easy way to cook sausages without a barbecue. Pop all the ingredients on a tray and bake, then grab some soft bread rolls to serve.

Frozen dumplings are the foundation of this hot and sour soup, inspired by Chinese wonton soup and Thai tom yum soup. Garlic, ginger, lemongrass and sambal oelek amp up the flavour of vegetable stock for this warming vegetarian meal.

A popular stir-fry with a twist, this tasty version includes tahini for creaminess and optional chilli. There's a decent amount of broccoli, making this a complete meal. The garlic butter rice is simple to make and almost steals the show!

Ful medames is a much loved Lebanese brunch dish made with budget-friendly canned fava beans and chickpeas. Garlic, lemon juice and olive oil add flavour and this protein-packed meal is served with a fresh mix of tomatoes, onion and herbs.

In this recipe, pantry staples become a delicious, satisfying soup. It's a traditional Lebanese lentil dish, also known as Shorbat Adas bil Hamod that's finished with spinach leaves and a good squeeze of lemon juice.

For nights when you're craving pasta, make this pumpkin version, where roast pumpkin, onion and garlic are blitzed together with crème fraîche to form a simple, silky sauce. It's best served with wide pasta, such as fettucine.

Eggs for breakfast, lunch or dinner are never a bad idea, and it's easy to make shakshuka at home. Eggs are poached in tinned tomatoes, with chopped capsicum adding sweetness and a mix of spices making it extra special. Serve with buttered toast or pita bread.
