For something easy yet nutritious that you can make the night before, try Julia's .

    Mother's Day on a budget

Nothing says indulgent breakfast like pancakes.

The most brilliant thing about this is how it comes together.

It's easy and fast, needing nothing more than a few ingredients — perfect for a long, lazy weekend breakfast.

If you have a few blackened, overripe bananas in your fruit bowl at home, they are the perfect ingredient for banana bread or a smoothie.

This recipe for is not only a comforting, humble cake, but it's incredibly easy and quick to put together.

Or try for a bed-friendly option for Mum.

    Allergy-friendly option

are gluten free, dairy free and egg free, making them a free-for-all for almost everyone who loves a fritter.

The recipe contains chickpea flour (aka besan), which is free from gluten and also behaves like egg when enough liquid is added.

The flavour profile is very neutral so you may choose your own adventure! Add a teaspoon of curry powder, za'atar, or some smoky paprika to completely transform these and transport you to flavourtown.
