International uncertainty is continuing to weigh on New Zealand consumers

The Westpac McDermott Miller Consumer Confidence Index has fallen this month, leaving it at below average levels.

Westpac chief economist Dominick Stephens says households are feeling more optimistic about their personal financial situation.

However, he says they're feeling increasingly concerned about the economic outlook more generally.
