Greater Wellington Regional Council has voted to increase bus and train fares for commuters by 10 percent from July

Greater Wellington Regional Council has voted to increase bus and train fares for commuters by 10 percent from July

Transport Chair Thomas Nash says it's not a choice he wanted to make, but it had to be done given their financial situation.

He says every council in the country is facing difficult decisions, and they need to cover their costs.
