Air New Zealand expects its first-half earnings to drop -- partly because of a shortage of aircraft

The national carrier expects its pre-tax profit to range from 120-to-160 million dollars, down from 185 million in the previous comparable half-year.
Global engine maintenance delays and a shortage of aircraft has put up to six Airbus neo aircraft, and up to four Boeing 787s out of service.
That's 16-percent of its jet fleet.
It says current assumptions and discussions with engine-makers - suggest the shortage won't ease until early 2026.
