House sales are picking up, as house prices continue to fall

House sales are picking up, as house prices continue to fall

    15 April 2025
Latest Real Estate Institute data shows the number of homes sold last month, was 12.8 percent higher than the same month last year.

It's putting the change down to falling interest rates, along with lower house prices in many parts of the country.

The national median house price has dropped another 1.4 percent in the past year.

Auckland and Wellington are continuing to see sharper declines, while Canterbury's median price is flat.
