Police are asking locals in the Wellington suburb of Miramar to keep their eyes peeled, after a home invasion and a subsequent death

Police are asking locals in the Wellington suburb of Miramar to keep their eyes peeled, after a home invasion and a subsequent death

    19 March 2025
In the early hours of Monday morning - two adults awoke to an intruder in their home and scuffled with him - one was hurt and the intruder fled.

A short time later, Police found a man badly hurt by his car on the footpath - he's since died in hospital.

Officers believe the death could be linked to the attempted burglary and are now appealing for the public's help.

They say other unreported thefts may have happened in the weeks prior, and describe the suspect as a man in a white cap, shorts, and gumboots.
