Storm Reid admits leaving 'Euphoria' is "bittersweet"

The 21-year-old actress played Gia - the youngest sister of Zendaya's character Rue Bennett - in the first two seasons of the HBO drama, but she previously revealed her alter ego won't be part of the long-awaited third series

    3 March 2025
She told Variety: "[It's] bittersweet. I love Gia. I loved being able to embody her and give her life.

"I'm really excited for season three. I know they're going to do something special and it's going to be good."

Storm also insisted there are no hard feelings with herself and Zendaya, and she wants to work with her again in the future.

She added: "That's my sister before 'Euphoria' and after.

"That's gonna be my sister for life, so I'm sure we'll work together again one day in some capacity."

As well as new film 'Get Lite' for Paramount, Storm is keeping busy away from the camera.

Later this year, she'll be graduating from the University of Southern California (USC), and she can't wait.

She quipped: "I have two months and I'm over it. I'm just itching to be done, which is strange because I love being at school so much.

"But you know, I'm not an 18-year-old girl anymore and the campus looks a little less pretty.

"I'm walking around and I'm like, 'I don't know any of these people walking around.' But you know, getting back to work is the exciting thing."

Storm previously admitted she was "anxious to get back" to work on 'Euphoria' for the third season, before finding out she wouldn't be returning.

She told E! News in April 2024: "We're on pause right now, but we're anxious to get back.

"If it's meant to be, we'll be back soon and we'll give the audience what they want and deserve."

She later said she was "indebted" to the show for what it's given her.

In November, she told Rotten Tomatoes: "Unfortunately, Gia's not returning for the third season, but I'm so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO.

"Euphoria's a really special thing, and I'm so glad that that's a part of my legacy, and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon."
