Brad Everett Young, the Hollywood actor and photographer, has died after a crash aged 46

Best known for his role in Grey's Anatomy, the star was travelling on the 134 Freeway in Los Angeles when the tragedy happened

    20 September 2025
The vehicle being driven by Brad was struck by a car travelling in the wrong direction on the busy motorway, according to his representative.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other motorist was taken to hospital with injuries.

Brad, born on 16 January 1977, was widely known in Hollywood both in front of and behind the camera.

As a photographer, his work appeared in major publications including Vanity Fair, Vogue and The Hollywood Reporter.

He captured portraits of actors such as David Harbour, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seth Green among many others.

As an actor, Brad made appearances in series including Grey's Anatomy, Boy Meets World and Charlie's Angels.

In addition to his screen work, he founded Dream Loud Official, a campaign dedicated to restoring arts and music education in schools across the United States.

He described creativity as a "vital component of learning" and promoted the project widely within the industry.

His representative Paul Christensen told The Hollywood Reporter: "Brad's passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched," adding Brad had "lived his mission" by working tirelessly to preserve the arts.

Other tributes have been shared by leading entertainment industry figures.

Chris McKenna from General Hospital posted a series of photographs taken by Brad weeks before his death and wrote on Instagram: "These were taken just a couple weeks ago by the late @bradley206 we won't see another like him."

Parry Shan, also from General Hospital, praised Brad's generosity.

He said: "Brad Everett Young was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business, often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity."

He added Brad often declined payment for his photography, preferring to help actors and colleagues with their careers.

Fans also expressed their grief online.

One tribute posted on X said: "A lovely man who was respectful to fans and the celebrities whose pictures he took. Such a tragedy, such a loss. I pray for comfort to his family and friends. RIP Brad Everett Young."

Another user wrote: "Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Brad Everett Young, Brad passed away Sunday night following an automobile accident he was so nice! He will forever be remembered for his work as an event photographer for all the stars and his work as an actor and screenwriter."

Brad is survived by his brother, Chris.
