Ticket's for two of New Zealand's Great Walks summer season started going on sale today

Ticket's for two of New Zealand's Great Walks summer season started going on sale today

    11 June 2019
They're for the Heaphy and Milford walks..

Two more tracks will go on sale tomorrow, with another three being released on Thursday and Friday.

The Department of Conservation-managed walks have spiked in popularity in recent years.

Heritage and visitors director Steve Taylor says it's harder to secure bookings at peak times.

However, DOC is working combat this by expanding the Great Walks network and trialling new pricing controls.

A 10th Great Walk - the Paparoa Track - will open on the first of December, with tickets going on sale tomorrow.
