The country's posted a surplus for the first time in 11 years, meaning we earned more from the rest of the world ... than we spent

    16 September 2020
Stats NZ says we made a seasonally adjusted surplus of half a billion dollars in the June 2020 quarter, the biggest since 1971.

International statistics senior manager, Peter Dolan, says there was a slump in demand for oil imports and international tourist spending.

But it was countered by dairy exports, which pushed the current account into the black.
