Another event cancelled in the South Island -- as Alert Level Two bites the events sector

Another event cancelled in the South Island -- as Alert Level Two bites the events sector

    1 March 2021

The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra's postponed nine of its upcoming performances.

Chief Executive Peter Biggs says the health of audience members and performers is his top priority.

It's the latest in a string of events to be cancelled or delayed -- with the earthquake memorial concert, Wings Over Wairarapa, and the Golden Shears -- all falling victim to Covid restrictions.

NZSO concerts planned for late next week in Christchurch, Blenheim and Nelson -- are still going ahead.
