Southern Response will pay three-thousand Canterbury quake claimants a share of 300-million-dollars

Southern Response will pay three-thousand Canterbury quake claimants a share of 300-million-dollars

    21 September 2021
A High Court ruling that the insurer misrepresented the entitlements of Christchurch couple Karl and Alison Dodds opened the door for other claimants.

Southern Response has been given the all clear by the Court to directly offer compensation.

Homeowners like the Dodds, who cash-settled before October 2014 and aren't involved in a class action, will get around 20-percent of their original settlement.

Christchurch Law Firm Anthony Harper is handling 50 claims - with 20 already being settled for amounts ranging from 63-thousand to almost 430-thousand-dollars.

The firm's urging homeowners to seek independent legal advice.
