A slow but steady recovery continues in New Zealand's housing market

The QV House Price Index for January shows the national average home value increased by two percent this quarter, to just over 925-thousand-dollars.
Auckland rose 1.1 percent, while Wellington went up 2.8 percent and Christchurch 3.4 percent.
Operations Manager James Wilson says some smaller regional centres are also getting some traction.
He says it appears some owner-occupiers and first home buyers are now targeting those smaller centres, as they felt the competition rise in the main centres.
