Anjelica Huston's Los Angeles home suffered "significant" damage in the wildfires

The 73-year-old actress has been living in her ranch near the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California since the disaster unfolded across Pacific Palisades in January and while everything "turned out to be okay" in the end, she did have to spend time working on her home in the aftermath

    24 April 2025
She told People: "It turned out to be okay, but it's taken this long to remediate because I had damage and several windows blown out. Not terrible, but significant."

During the wildfires, almost 17,000 houses were destroyed, and celebrities such as Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, actor John Goodman, and heiress Paris Hilton as well as a host of others lost their property.

The 'Addams Family' actress - who was married to sculptor Robert Graham from 1992 until his death in 2008 - famously dated 'The Shining' star Jack Nicholson, 87, throughout the 1970s and 1980s and found it "heartbreakingly sweet" to receive an invite from him amid the fires, but even though she thought it over "several times", she did not accept.

She said, "It was heartbreakingly sweet. I've gone back over it ¬several times in my head, and I think next time I'd accept the invitation. "

Meanwhile, the former 'Smash' star has become a "donkey advocate" on her ranch and is keen to raise awareness for the care of the four-legged animals.

She said: "There are several groups here who look after wild donkeys, and I'm one of them. Donkeys are not the showiest, but

"I've gone back over it ¬several times in my head, and I think next time I'd accept the invitation."

Anjelica purchased her ranch in 1984 and has found it to be in a "very colloquial" area full of "friendly" people.

She said: "I immediately pronounced it coyote country, which it kind of is.

"There's a certain amount of wildlife that goes on, but it's actually very friendly. It's a small town and it's very colloquial and easy to get along here. You don't have to dress for dinner. I spend my time around the animals and riding, and it's been very pleasurable."
