Tomorrow, a trough moves east across the upper North Island, while a ridge over the South Island weakens. On Tuesday, a weakening front moves east across the South Island, while an active trough to the north of the country is expected to move onto the northern and central North Island. During Wednesday, a low pressure system embedded in the trough should move onto central New Zealand. On Thursday, the trough and embedded low gradually move to the east of the country and a ridge builds from the west.
