    Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 1638hrs Friday 07-Nov-2025 by MetService
    Situation: A weakening front lies over central New Zealand today, while a trough continues to affect the Far North. On Saturday, a weak ridge of high pressure covers most of the country, while a front moves onto the southern South Island. A front moves slowly northwards during Sunday as a low forms over the Tasman Sea. The front and low are expected to cross the South Island and southern North Island during Monday. On Tuesday, high pressure moves in from the Tasman Sea, while the front weakens and moves offshore east of New Zealand.

    Friday: Variable 5 knots. Sea smooth but choppy when wind opposes tide. Mainly fine. Chance of a shower. For the west coast: Southwest swell 1 metre.
    Saturday: Variable 5 knots. Southwest 10 knots developing for a time in the afternoon. Sea slight but choppy when wind opposes tide. Poor visibility in showers. Possible thunderstorms from afternoon. For the west coast: Southwest swell 1 metre.
