On Tuesday, high pressure covers much of New Zealand. A low lies north of the country, moving southeastwards. On Wednesday, the low continues to move southeastwards to the north of the North Island. A ridge through central parts of the country weakens as a front approaches southern New Zealand from the Tasman Sea. On Thursday, the low to the north of the North Island moves away to the southeast, while a front moves northwards over the South Island.
