    Tuesday : Northerly 15 knots but 25 knots east of Kaikoura Peninsula.
    Rising to northerly 30 knots everywhere in the evening.
    Sea becoming rough everywhere.
    Long period southerly swell 3 metres, easing to 2 metres.
    Northeast swell 1 metre.
    Fair visibility in periods of rain.
    Wednesday : Northerly 25 knots, rising to 35 knots north of Kaikoura Peninsula in the evening.
    Sea becoming very rough.
    Long period southwest swell 2 metres, easing.
    Northeast swell 1 metre.
    Fair visibility in periods of rain.

    Outlook following 3 days:
    Thursday: Changing southwest 15 knots in the afternoon, then dying out in the evening.
    Very rough sea easing.
    Northeast swell becoming moderate.
    Friday: Variable 10 knots, but northeast 15 knots for a time in the afternoon.
    Moderate northeast swell easing for a time.
    Saturday: Northerly 15 knots developing early, rising to 25 knots late.
    Sea becoming rough.
    Moderate northeast swell.
